The world renowned pottery belonging to the brand of Thomas China has its origin in Bavaria 1879. The proprietor of the pottery group was Thomas Rosenthal who had initially started the business with Federick. In 1950 Philip Rosenthal Jr took over the enterprise and gave it a whole new direction. Philips Rosenthal Jr had all the entrepreneurship qualities of a young business. He travelled the different parts in making the brand better known to people and collecting sample designs. The stylish and sophisticated designs that we see today are a part of his extensive research and hard work. Having started with as a small pottery production unit, Thomas china has become a pioneer in the pottery industry. In the year 1903, Thomas Porcelain was established and taken over by the then pioneer of pottery Rosenthal, five years later in the year 1908. The Label of Thomas China however remained unchanged without showing any take over by Rosenthal. The company under the leadership of Rosenthal produced the same quality of sophisticated pottery as was attributed to the original Thomas China.
